Indications
Liposem 2 is used to treat high blood fat levels (diabetic dyslipidemia) and high triglycerides in people with Type 2 diabetes who are not controlled by statins. Liposem 2 helps reduce triglycerides, bad cholesterol (LDL), and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) while increasing good cholesterol (HDL). Liposem 2 also helps manage blood sugar levels by lowering fasting glucose and hemoglobin A1c in diabetic patients.
Pharmacology
Liposem 2 is a strong medicine that mainly activates the PPAR-alpha receptor, with moderate activity on PPAR-gamma. These receptors help control fat and sugar levels in the blood, and reduce inflammation. Liposem 2 works by increasing fat burning in the liver, lowering fat levels in the blood, and improving the use of insulin in the body, helping people with insulin resistance and diabetes.
Dosage & Administration
Adult: Take two 2mg tablets once a day.
Pediatric Use: Safety and effectiveness in children under 18 years have not been established.
Geriatric Use: Use with caution in elderly patients due to possible other health conditions and medications.
Interaction
Liposem 2 does not significantly affect the liver enzymes (CYP) that process other medicines, so Liposem 2 is unlikely to cause serious drug interactions.
Contraindications
Liposem 2 is not recommended for people who are allergic to Liposem 2 or any of its ingredients.
Side Effects
In clinical studies, the most common side effects were mild to moderate and included gastritis (stomach irritation), weakness, and fever. These did not lead to patients stopping the medicine.

If pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this medication. Liposem 2 should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefits outweigh the risks to the baby.
