Indications
Dobesil 500 is used to treat hemorrhoidal syndrome, problems with blood flow, and signs of chronic venous insufficiency in the lower legs, such as pain, cramps, tingling, swelling, skin changes, and more. Dobesil 500 is also helpful in treating diabetic retinopathy and is used as additional therapy for superficial thrombophlebitis.
Pharmacology
Dobesil 500 is a drug that affects blood vessels. Dobesil 500 helps improve blood flow by strengthening blood vessel walls, reducing their permeability, and lowering blood thickness. This makes blood flow better and supplies more oxygen to tissues and organs.
Dosage & Administration
Take one to two 500 mg capsules daily with meals. The treatment duration typically ranges from a few weeks to several months, depending on the condition and its progress. The dosage should be adjusted based on the severity of the issue.

Contraindications
Dobesil 500 is not recommended for people who are allergic to Calcium Dobesilate.
Side Effects
Side effects are rare but may include stomach issues like nausea and diarrhea, skin problems, fever, joint pain, and, in very rare cases, agranulocytosis (a condition where white blood cells are reduced). If you experience these symptoms, stop the treatment and consult a doctor. If you have stomach issues, the dosage can be reduced or temporarily stopped.
Pregnancy & Lactation
There is no available study on pregnant women or animals. Since Dobesil 500 is not known if Dobesil 500 passes through the placenta, Dobesil 500 should only be used if the benefits outweigh the risks. Dobesil 500 does pass into breast milk in very small amounts, so either stop the treatment or stop breastfeeding as a precaution.
