Indications
Trialon is used to treat and prevent nasal symptoms of seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis in both adults and children aged 6 years and older.
Pharmacology
Trialon works by reducing inflammation. Corticosteroids like Triamcinolone bind to receptors in the body, helping to control the production of chemicals that cause inflammation. This reduces swelling and other allergy symptoms. Trialon also weakens the immune system slightly by lowering the number of immune cells and interfering with the immune response.
Triamcinolone Acetonide is a stronger version of Triamcinolone and is about 8 times more powerful than prednisone. Trialon is effective in treating allergic conditions and helps relieve symptoms like a runny nose, stuffy nose, postnasal drip, sneezing, and itching in the throat.
Dosage & Administration
Adults and children 12 years and older: The recommended dose is 220 µgm, which is 2 sprays in each nostril once a day. Once symptoms are under control, the dose can be reduced to 110 µgm (1 spray in each nostril once a day). The lowest effective dose should be used to maintain symptom control.
Pediatric patients aged 6 to 12 years: The recommended dose is 110 µgm, which is 1 spray in each nostril once a day. Triamcinolone is not recommended for children under 6 years old.

Contraindications
There are no specific contraindications, but caution is needed for those who may be allergic to any ingredients in the medicine.
Side Effects
The most common side effects are related to the nose and throat, including rhinitis, headache, and sore throat. Other side effects may include nosebleeds, nasal irritation, dry nose, congestion, and sneezing. These effects may also occur with a placebo. In rare cases, nasal septum perforation (hole in the nose) has been reported with other nasal corticosteroids.
Pregnancy & Lactation
There are no adequate studies in pregnant women. Animal studies show some potential risks to the baby, so Trialon should only be used during pregnancy if the benefits outweigh the risks. Trialon is unclear whether Trialon is excreted in breast milk.
Precautions & Warnings
Special care should be taken if there is any sign that adrenal function is affected, especially when switching from systemic steroid treatment. Rare cases of local infections caused by Candida albicans (fungus) in the nose and throat have been reported, which may require treatment. Use with caution in patients with recent nasal surgery or wounds as corticosteroids can delay healing.
Overdose Effects
Overdosing with Triamcinolone is unlikely because the total amount of the active ingredient is very small when administered nasally.
