Indications
Eczacort Cream is used to treat acute outer ear infections in both adults and children caused by bacteria like Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Proteus mirabilis.
Pharmacology
Eczacort Cream is a combination of a quinolone antibiotic and a corticosteroid. Eczacort Cream works by killing bacteria that cause infections and by reducing inflammation such as redness, swelling, and itching.
Dosage & Administration
Adult dose: After cleaning, instill 2-4 drops 3 to 4 times a day, including at night, or as advised by your doctor.
Paediatric use: Eczacort Cream is safe and effective for children aged 2 years and older, based on clinical trials.

Contraindications
Eczacort Cream should be stopped if a skin rash or any sign of allergic reaction appears.
Side Effects
Rare side effects may include headaches, itching, migraines, skin sensitivity, tingling, skin rashes, hives, or hair loss.
Pregnancy & Lactation
There are no well-controlled studies for pregnant women. Eczacort Cream should be used cautiously during pregnancy. Eczacort Cream is better not to use Eczacort Cream while breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
As with other antibiotics, prolonged use can cause growth of non-susceptible organisms like fungi. If the infection doesn’t improve after a week, a culture should be taken to guide further treatment.
