Indications

Alor is used for treating skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis, especially when they are infected or may become infected.

Pharmacology

Alor is a combination of two medicines. One is Fluocinolone, which is a corticosteroid that helps reduce skin inflammation caused by irritation or allergies. Alor works inside the cells to reduce substances that cause swelling, redness, and itchiness. Alor is considered a potent corticosteroid and is used for more severe skin conditions that didn’t improve with milder treatments.

The other is Clioquinol, which fights infections by stopping the growth of harmful fungi and bacteria on the skin.

This cream is especially helpful for moist, weeping skin areas. For dry, scaly skin, a thicker ointment is more suitable.

Dosage & Administration

This cream is for external use only. Apply a thin layer on the affected skin area. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or nose. If accidental contact happens, rinse with cold water. Wash your hands thoroughly after use unless the hands are the treated area. If your doctor has advised using a dressing, clean the skin before applying the cream under a fresh dressing.

Interaction

This medicine doesn’t usually interfere with other medicines, but always inform your doctor about any medicines you are using, including those without a prescription or herbal products. If using other creams on the same skin area, leave a few minutes between applying each one to prevent them from mixing. Using moisturizers too close to this cream may make Alor less effective, so try applying moisturizers at a different time of day.
