Indications

Alunib 180 is used for treating patients with ALK-positive metastatic Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have not responded to or cannot tolerate Crizotinib.

Pharmacology

Alunib 180 is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that works against various kinases, including ALK, ROS1, and EGFR. Alunib 180 blocks the activity of ALK, which helps stop the growth of cancer cells in the body. Alunib 180 also interferes with cancer cell growth in the lab and in animal studies. The exact details of how Alunib 180 works in humans are still being studied.

Dosage & Administration

Adult: Start with 90 mg once daily for the first 7 days. If tolerated, increase to 180 mg once daily. Continue until the disease progresses or side effects are too severe.

Pediatric: Safety and effectiveness in children have not been established.

Interaction

Some drugs, such as strong CYP3A inhibitors, may increase the levels of this medicine, causing more side effects. On the other hand, some drugs like strong CYP3A inducers can lower its effectiveness. Alunib 180 can also affect other medications by lowering their levels.

Contraindications

Alunib 180 is not recommended for patients who are allergic to Alunib 180 or any of its ingredients.

Side Effects

Possible side effects include lung problems, high blood pressure, slow heart rate, vision issues, elevated CPK levels, increased pancreatic enzymes, and high blood sugar.

Pregnancy & Lactation

If pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your doctor before taking this medication. Alunib 180 may harm the fetus or infant, so breastfeeding should be avoided during treatment. Women should use non-hormonal birth control during treatment and for at least 4 months afterward. Men with female partners should also use contraception during treatment and for 3 months after the last dose.

This medication can cause severe lung problems, high blood pressure, slow heart rate, vision issues, and changes in certain blood test results. Alunib 180 should be stopped if these issues occur, and your doctor will monitor you regularly.
