Indications
Feminor is indicated for the treatment of dysfunctional uterine bleeding, premenstrual syndrome, postponement of menstruation, endometriosis, and menorrhagia.
Pharmacology
Feminor is a medication with progestational actions similar to progesterone, but Feminor is stronger in preventing ovulation. Feminor has mild estrogenic and androgenic effects. Feminor is used to treat various menstrual cycle disorders. Feminor is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and its effects last at least 24 hours. Feminor is excreted in the urine.
Dosage & Administration
Adult: 1 tablet 3 times daily for 10 days for dysfunctional uterine bleeding. Bleeding stops in 1-3 days, with withdrawal bleeding occurring 2-4 days after stopping treatment.
Prophylaxis: If no signs of normal ovarian function, 1 tablet twice daily from day 19 to day 26 of the cycle.
Premenstrual Syndrome: Take 2-3 tablets daily from day 19 to day 26 of the cycle for symptoms like headache, migraine, breast discomfort, and water retention.
Postponement of Menstruation: Take 1 tablet 3 times daily, starting 3 days before the expected period. Menstruation will occur 2-3 days after stopping the tablets.
Endometriosis: Take 2 tablets daily from day 5 of the cycle for several weeks, with the dose increasing to 4-5 tablets daily if spotting occurs. Treatment duration is 4-6 months or longer if needed.
Menorrhagia: 1 tablet 2-3 times daily from day 19 to day 26 of the cycle.

Contraindications
Feminor is contraindicated in pregnancy, severe liver disturbances, liver tumors, history of jaundice during pregnancy, current thromboembolic disorders, and hypersensitivity to any of its components.
Side Effects
Side effects are more common in the first months and usually subside over time. They include visual disturbances, nausea, headache, edema, migraine, shortness of breath, and skin reactions like rashes and hives.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Feminor should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
Feminor may increase the risk of venous thromboembolism, arterial thrombosis, and other serious conditions like heart attack and stroke. Liver tumors (both benign and rare malignant) have been observed in some cases. Feminor can affect carbohydrate metabolism, so diabetics should be monitored. Stop treatment immediately if any unusual symptoms occur, such as severe headaches, chest pain, jaundice, or high blood pressure.
Overdose Effects
No reports of overdose. Treatment is usually not required, and no specific antidotes are available. Symptomatic treatment should be given if necessary.
