Indications

Tenorix is used to treat pain and swelling in various conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other musculoskeletal disorders. Tenorix can also help with tendinitis, bursitis, shoulder-hand syndrome, strains, sprains, and acute gout.

Pharmacology

Tenorix is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces inflammation, pain, and fever. Tenorix works by blocking substances in the body that cause inflammation and pain. Tenorix also helps prevent blood clotting and reduces cartilage breakdown in joints. Tenorix has no harmful effects on genes or unborn babies in animal studies. However, Tenorix can affect the kidneys and stomach.

Dosage & Administration

Standard dosage: For most conditions, take 20 mg once a day at the same time.

Acute gout: Take 40 mg for the first two days, then 20 mg for the next five days.

Chronic disorders: Higher doses may cause more side effects, so stick to 20 mg a day unless advised otherwise by a doctor. For long-term treatment, a lower dose of 10 mg may be used.

Special dosage instructions: The dosage is generally the same for elderly patients or those with kidney or liver problems, but there is not enough data on children and adolescents.

Interaction

Tenorix should not be used with other NSAIDs or salicylates as they may increase the risk of stomach problems. Tenorix may also interact with methotrexate, lithium, and diuretics, so extra caution is needed. The drug should not be used with potassium-sparing diuretics due to the risk of kidney issues. Some medications, like furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide, may have reduced effects when taken with Tenorix. Monitor lithium levels closely if both are used together.

Contraindications

Tenorix should not be used by people who are allergic to Tenorix, or by those who have had allergic reactions to other NSAIDs like aspirin. Tenorix should also be avoided by people with stomach problems such as ulcers or gastritis.

Side Effects

The side effects are usually mild and temporary. Some common effects include stomach discomfort, nausea, headache, dizziness, and rash. More serious effects like stomach bleeding, kidney issues, and liver problems can occur but are rare. If severe reactions like skin rashes or breathing problems occur, stop using Tenorix immediately and seek medical help.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Tenorix should not be used during late pregnancy as Tenorix can affect the unborn baby. A very small amount may pass into breast milk, but there have been no reported problems with breastfeeding. However, Tenorix is best to stop using Tenorix if you’re breastfeeding.

Precautions & Warnings

Tenorix can affect kidney function, so Tenorix should be used carefully in patients with kidney problems, heart disease, or those on diuretics. Tenorix can also interfere with blood clotting, so be cautious if you have a bleeding disorder or are on blood thinners. If stomach ulcers or bleeding occur, stop the medication immediately. Tenorix can also mask signs of infection and affect eye health, so eye exams are recommended if vision problems arise.

Overdose Effects

In case of an overdose, the side effects like stomach issues and dizziness would be worse. Treatment includes measures to reduce the drug’s absorption and help the body eliminate Tenorix faster, such as using activated charcoal or cholestyramine.

Therapeutic Class

Tenorix belongs to the class of drugs used for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions. Tenorix is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

Storage Conditions

Store Tenorix below 30°C, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
