Moxacil is used to treat infections caused by bacteria that are sensitive to ß-lactamase negative strains. These infections include ear, nose, and throat infections like otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and laryngitis. Moxacil also treats lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis, lung abscess, empyema, and bronchiectasis. Moxacil is used for skin and soft tissue infections like cellulitis, carbuncles, and infected wounds. Moxacil can treat genito-urinary tract infections such as pyelonephritis, cystitis, and urethritis, as well as venereal diseases like acute uncomplicated gonorrhoea. For dental abscess, Moxacil is used for short-term therapy. Additionally, Moxacil is used with Clarithromycin and Lansoprazole in triple therapy for treating H. pylori infection and duodenal ulcer disease, and to reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer recurrence.
