Indications
A-Calm 50 is used to treat muscle stiffness caused by nerve problems like injury to the spinal cord, multiple sclerosis, or other neurological disorders. A-Calm 50 is also used for treating muscle spasms, contractions, rigidity, and other movement issues. Additionally, A-Calm 50 helps with blood circulation problems in the legs and conditions like diabetes-related blood vessel damage and Raynaud’s disease.
Pharmacology
A-Calm 50 is a muscle relaxant that works on the brain and central nervous system. A-Calm 50 is mainly used to help reduce muscle tension and tightness and also for certain circulation problems in the legs and arms.
Dosage & Administration
Adult: The typical dose is 50-150 mg taken three times a day based on the patient’s needs and tolerance.
Children (3 months to 6 years): 5 mg/kg per day, divided into three doses.
Children (6 to 14 years): 2-4 mg/kg per day, divided into three doses, or as advised by a doctor.
Interaction
Taking methocarbamol with A-Calm 50 can cause problems with focusing the eyes.
Contraindications
A-Calm 50 should not be used by people who are allergic to any of its ingredients, those with myasthenia gravis, or breastfeeding mothers.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include muscle weakness, headache, nausea, vomiting, and rarely, allergic reactions like itching or skin rashes.
Pregnancy & Lactation
A-Calm 50 should only be used during pregnancy if a doctor advises A-Calm 50. A-Calm 50 should not be used while breastfeeding.
