Abasaglar Kwikpen also prevents the breakdown of fats and proteins while helping the body build proteins.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: Abasaglar Kwikpen is usually taken once a day as an injection, at the same time each day. Your doctor will adjust the amount based on your blood sugar levels. Abasaglar Kwikpen is not used through an IV.
Starting Dose: For type 1 diabetes, start with about one-third of your daily insulin needs. For type 2 diabetes, start with 10 units or 0.2 units per kilogram.
If switching from other insulin, your doctor will adjust the dose of your other medications. The dose for switching from NPH insulin may be the same or slightly lower depending on the number of doses you were taking.

Some medications can affect the way insulin works. Certain medicines like oral anti-diabetic drugs, ACE inhibitors, and others may lower the amount of insulin you need. Others like steroids, thyroid hormones, and some others may increase your insulin needs.
