Indications
Aceten is used as an additional treatment for conditions with thick mucus, such as chronic lung diseases, acute lung diseases, and post-surgery lung complications.
Pharmacology
Aceten works by breaking down mucus, making Aceten easier to clear the airways. Aceten also has antioxidant properties that help protect the lungs from damage caused by harmful molecules.
Dosage & Administration
Effervescent Tablets: Adults and children above 6 years: One tablet daily, preferably in the evening. Dissolve in water before drinking.
Granules: Adults and children above 6 years: 1 sachet (200 mg) 2-3 times a day. Children (2-6 years): 1 sachet (100 mg) 2-4 times a day.
Nebulizer Solution: Adults: 5-10 ml every 6-8 hours as needed. Children: Dose varies by age, ranging from 1-10 ml every 6-8 hours.
Interaction
Aceten may reduce the effect of certain antibiotics. To avoid this, take antibiotics at least 2 hours apart from this medicine. Aceten may also enhance the effect of nitroglycerin.
Contraindications
Aceten should not be used by individuals allergic to any of its ingredients or those with phenylketonuria, as Aceten contains aspartame.
Side Effects
Possible side effects include headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, rash, and dizziness. In rare cases, severe allergic reactions may occur.

Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should consult a doctor before using this medicine.
Precautions & Warnings
Patients with asthma should be monitored closely during treatment. Caution is advised for those with a history of stomach ulcers. The medicine contains sodium, which should be considered by those on a low-sodium diet.
Overdose Effects
Taking too much may cause nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. Seek medical help if an overdose is suspected.
