Indications
Adrinoxyl is used to prevent and treat capillary bleeding, both during and after surgery, as well as for non-surgical bleeding.
Pharmacology
Adrinoxyl is a haemostatic medicine that works quickly. The active ingredient is adrenochrome monosemicarbazone, a stable form of adrenochrome. Adrenochrome is made by oxidizing adrenaline. Adrinoxyl helps reduce bleeding by making blood vessels less permeable, leading to less bleeding. Adrinoxyl works on small blood vessels without affecting breathing or heart rate, so Adrinoxyl doesn’t have the side effects of adrenaline-like drugs.
Dosage & Administration
For prevention and treatment of capillary bleeding: Take 4-12 tablets per day, depending on the severity of the condition, preferably one hour before meals. Before surgery, start the medication the evening before either by mouth or an injection of 1.5-5 mg, given by muscle or under the skin. Another injection should be given about half an hour before the surgery.
Injection: The injection should be given into the muscle or under the skin. In emergency cases, Adrinoxyl can be injected into a vein. The tablets should be taken by mouth.
