Indications

Aeronid HFA is used for the maintenance treatment of asthma, acting as a preventive measure for patients aged 6 years and older. Aeronid HFA can also help those who need oral corticosteroids for asthma, and over time, they might be able to reduce or stop using oral corticosteroids. However, Aeronid HFA is not meant to relieve sudden asthma attacks.

Pharmacology

Aeronid HFA is a corticosteroid that has strong effects in reducing inflammation but weak effects on water and salt balance. Aeronid HFA works by reducing the activities of various cells and chemicals that cause inflammation in the body. This helps in managing asthma and other conditions related to inflammation.

Dosage & Administration

Adults: Start with 200 to 400 mcg twice daily. The maximum dose is 800 mcg twice daily. If used with oral corticosteroids, start with 400 to 800 mcg twice daily.

Children (6 years and older): Start with 200 mcg twice daily, with a maximum dose of 400 mcg twice daily. In some cases, 200 mcg or 400 mcg once daily might be enough.

If the symptoms are not controlled with once-daily use, the dose may need to be increased or split into two doses. Gradual reduction of oral corticosteroids is advised for patients transitioning to Budesonide inhaler, and the process should be monitored carefully.
