Indications
Alecinix 150 is used to treat patients with a specific type of lung cancer called ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has spread or cannot be removed by surgery, especially when other treatments have not worked or were not tolerated.
Pharmacology
Alecinix 150 works by blocking certain proteins that help cancer cells grow. By stopping these proteins, Alecinix 150 slows down or stops the spread of cancer. Alecinix 150 also reaches the brain to help fight cancer that has spread there.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: The usual dose is 600 mg (four 150 mg capsules) taken twice a day with food. If the liver is severely affected, a lower dose of 450 mg twice a day may be needed. Capsules should be swallowed whole.
Interaction
Alecinix 150 does not significantly affect most commonly used medicines. However, Alecinix 150 may slightly change how some liver enzymes work. Always consult a doctor before combining Alecinix 150 with other medications.
Contraindications
Alecinix 150 should not be used in people who are allergic to any of its ingredients.
Side Effects
Common side effects include constipation, swelling, muscle pain, nausea, high bilirubin levels, anemia, and skin rash. Consult a doctor if any severe symptoms occur.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnant women or those planning pregnancy should avoid Alecinix 150, as Alecinix 150 may harm the baby. Breastfeeding is not recommended while taking this medicine.
Precautions & Warnings
Alecinix 150 may cause lung inflammation, liver damage, or increased liver enzymes. Regular monitoring is required. Patients should report any breathing difficulties or signs of liver problems immediately.
