Indications
Aloglip 12.5 is used along with diet and exercise to help control blood sugar levels in adults with type-2 diabetes mellitus.
Pharmacology
Aloglip 12.5 is a DPP-4 inhibitor that works by increasing the levels of hormones that help regulate blood sugar. These hormones, such as GLP-1 and GIP, are released from the small intestine after eating and help release insulin from the pancreas. These hormones also reduce sugar production in the liver. In type 2 diabetes, the body has lower levels of GLP-1, but the response to Aloglip 12.5 remains active.
