Indications
Aminosteril N-Hepa 8% is indicated for providing amino acids through parenteral nutrition in severe liver failure, with or without brain problems. Aminosteril N-Hepa 8% is also used when oral or enteral feeding is not possible, insufficient, or not recommended.
Pharmacology
Aminosteril N-Hepa 8% contains a combination of amino acids, which are essential for various body functions, such as protein synthesis and metabolism. These amino acids are provided when the body is unable to get enough through normal feeding due to conditions like liver failure or other serious illnesses.
Dosage & Administration
Usual Dose: 1.0 to 1.25 ml per kg per hour as an intravenous infusion.
Maximum Dose: 1.5 g of amino acids per kg per day, which equals 1300 ml per day for a person weighing 70 kg.
Constant monitoring of serum electrolytes, fluid balance, and acid-base balance is required.
Amino Acid 8% is used for as long as needed for therapy.
Interaction
Aminosteril N-Hepa 8% should not be mixed with other drugs due to the risk of contamination and incompatibility. If other nutrients like carbohydrates, lipids, electrolytes, vitamins, or trace elements need to be added, careful mixing, good blending, and ensuring compatibility is important.
Contraindications
