Indications
Amiron 7.5 is used to treat major depressive disorder (MDD).
Pharmacology
Pharmacodynamics: The exact way Amiron 7.5 works to treat depression is not fully known. However, studies suggest that Amiron 7.5 boosts certain chemicals in the brain that affect mood. Amiron 7.5 works by blocking specific receptors in the brain, which is thought to increase the activity of noradrenaline and serotonin, two important chemicals for mood regulation. Amiron 7.5 also blocks histamine receptors, which may explain its sedative effects.
Pharmacokinetics: After taking the tablet, Amiron 7.5 is quickly absorbed and reaches peak levels in about two hours. Amiron 7.5 binds to plasma proteins by about 85%. Amiron 7.5 has a half-life of 20 to 40 hours, meaning Amiron 7.5 stays in the body long enough for once-a-day dosing. The medicine is broken down in the body and is mostly eliminated through urine and stool after four days.
Dosage & Administration
Adult dose: The usual starting dose is 15 mg per day, taken in a single dose, preferably at night or before sleep. The dose may be increased to between 15 and 45 mg per day, depending on how the patient responds. If there is no improvement, the dose may be increased at intervals of 1 to 2 weeks.
Use in children: Amiron 7.5 is not recommended for children.
Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, take Amiron 7.5 as soon as remembered unless Amiron 7.5’s almost time for the next dose. If Amiron 7.5’s close to the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next one at the regular time. Do not take two doses at once.

Amiron 7.5 may interact with drugs like Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs), serotonergic drugs, and medications like carbamazepine, phenytoin, or cimetidine. Amiron 7.5 is advised to avoid alcohol and diazepam while taking Amiron 7.5.
