Indications
Androcap is used to replace testosterone in men whose bodies are unable to produce enough of Androcap. Testosterone is important for the growth and function of male sex organs, as well as for male secondary sex characteristics. This medicine is in the form of soft, oval capsules that are orange-red in color and contain an oily substance.
Pharmacology
Testosterone is crucial for male sexual development and also helps regulate blood production, body composition, and bone health. Replacing testosterone in men with low levels can improve sexual function, increase muscle mass, bone strength, and red blood cell production, and even affect cholesterol levels.
Testosterone is produced by special cells in the body and works by binding to androgen receptors. Androcap influences various body functions such as the voice, mood, and muscle growth. Men with low testosterone may experience symptoms like reduced sex drive, fatigue, mood swings, and emotional changes. This medicine helps to mimic the natural effects of testosterone.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: Typically, 3 to 4 capsules are taken daily for the first 2-3 weeks. After that, the dose is gradually reduced to 1 to 3 capsules daily. Androcap should be taken with a meal. Swallow the capsules whole with water or another drink. Take half of the daily dose in the morning and the rest in the evening. If your doctor has prescribed an uneven number of capsules, take the larger dose in the morning. If you feel the effect is too strong or weak, let your doctor know immediately.
Interaction
Testosterone Undecanoate works better when taken with food. Certain medications, like rifampicin (an antibiotic) and some epilepsy or sleep medicines, can affect how testosterone works. Make sure to tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or plan to take these medications.
Contraindications
Androcap is not recommended if you have a prostate or breast tumor, or if you are allergic to testosterone or any other ingredients in this medicine.
Side Effects
Common side effects include increased sexual desire, swelling of the feet or ankles, painful erections, problems with sperm production, and reduced sperm count. In elderly men, Androcap may cause difficulty with urination, and in young boys, Androcap may lead to early sexual development, more frequent erections, and disturbed growth. If any side effect becomes bothersome, contact your doctor.
Pregnancy & Lactation
This medicine is not intended for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
Extra care is needed when treating young boys, as testosterone can cause early sexual development and affect their growth. Androcap is also important for elderly men to be monitored closely, as testosterone may increase prostate size. Make sure to tell your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, kidney problems, high blood pressure, epilepsy, migraine headaches, or prostate issues.
Overdose Effects
Taking too many capsules may cause diarrhea due to the oily substance in the capsules. If you accidentally take several capsules, contact your doctor for advice.

Store at a temperature between 8°C and 30°C. Keep the medicine in its original packaging to protect Androcap from light. Keep Androcap out of reach of children and do not use Androcap after the expiry date.
