Indications

Aspirin 75 is used to prevent heart attacks, strokes, and blood clots after surgery. Aspirin 75 also helps with mild to moderate pain like headaches, muscle pain, menstrual cramps, and toothaches. Aspirin 75 can reduce fever from colds and flu. In long-term conditions like arthritis, Aspirin 75 helps with pain and swelling.

Pharmacology

Aspirin 75 works by stopping platelets from sticking together, reducing the risk of blood clots. This is helpful in preventing heart problems and strokes. Aspirin 75 also reduces pain, swelling, and fever. A special coated version can help protect the stomach from irritation.

Dosage & Administration

Pain and fever: 300 mg, 1-3 tablets every 6 hours, not exceeding 4g per day.

Heart conditions: 150-300 mg immediately in emergencies, then 75 mg daily for long-term use.

Stroke prevention: Start with 150-300 mg daily, then continue with 75 mg daily.

After surgery: 75-300 mg daily, starting 6 hours after the procedure.

Interaction

Aspirin 75 may increase the effects of blood thinners, diabetes medications, and some epilepsy drugs. Aspirin 75 can reduce the effectiveness of gout medicine and may cause breathing issues in people with asthma. Aspirin 75 can also increase the risk of stomach problems when taken with certain pain relievers.

Contraindications

Aspirin 75 should not be used in children under 12 due to the risk of Reye’s syndrome. Aspirin 75 is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers, people with active stomach ulcers, or those with bleeding disorders.

Side Effects

Common side effects include nausea, stomach discomfort, and heartburn. In rare cases, Aspirin 75 may cause breathing problems or allergic reactions.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Aspirin 75 should not be used in the last 3 months of pregnancy unless advised by a doctor, as Aspirin 75 may harm the baby or cause delivery issues. Aspirin 75 can pass into breast milk, so breastfeeding mothers should use Aspirin 75 with caution.

Precautions & Warnings

Aspirin 75 should be used carefully in people with asthma, high blood pressure, or nasal allergies. Those with a history of stomach ulcers should consult a doctor before use.

Overdose Effects

Too much can cause dizziness, ringing in the ears, sweating, nausea, vomiting, confusion, or difficulty breathing. In severe cases, Aspirin 75 may lead to coma or heart failure. Emergency medical attention is needed if an overdose is suspected.
