Children: For children over 1 month, the usual dose is 20 mg per kg per day, divided into 3 doses. For serious infections, the dose can go up to 40 mg per kg per day, with a maximum of 1 g per day.
For infants (less than 1 month): Safety has not been established.
For renal impairment: Dose adjustments may be necessary for patients with kidney problems.
For patients on dialysis: A loading dose of 250 mg to 1 g is recommended before dialysis, with maintenance doses after dialysis.

Biocef may cause false-positive urine glucose tests. When taken with blood thinners (like warfarin), Biocef may increase the blood-thinning effect, so regular monitoring is advised.

Biocef should not be used without a proven bacterial infection. Prolonged use can lead to resistant bacteria. Use with caution in patients with a history of allergies, especially to penicillins or other antibiotics.
Overdose Effects
Overdose symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and diarrhea.
Therapeutic Class
Second-generation cephalosporin antibiotics.
