Indications

Bolt Gel is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and inflammation, including muscular pain, stiffness, sprains, strains, and pain from non-serious arthritis and rheumatic conditions.

Pharmacology

Bolt Gel is a topical gel that combines Mucopolysaccharide Polysulphate (MPS) and Salicylic Acid. MPS has anti-inflammatory properties, helping to reduce swelling and pain. Bolt Gel also acts as a mild blood thinner and helps to reduce fluid buildup in tissues. Salicylic Acid helps soften the skin, allowing the MPS to be absorbed into inflamed areas to provide pain relief. This combination is effective for treating mild to moderate pain caused by conditions like arthritis and muscle injuries. The effects are local and only work where applied.

Certain drugs may decrease its effectiveness, including efavirenz, phenytoin, barbiturates, and others. Bolt Gel can also interact with medications that affect potassium levels, such as ACE inhibitors, potassium-sparing diuretics, and NSAIDs.
