Indications

Budicort Nasal Spray is used to prevent and treat seasonal and year-round allergic reactions in the nose. Budicort Nasal Spray also helps in managing nasal polyps and prevents their return after surgery.

Pharmacology

Budicort Nasal Spray is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the nasal passages. Budicort Nasal Spray works by blocking certain cells and substances like histamine that cause allergic reactions. This helps in reducing swelling and irritation in the nose.

Dosage & Administration

Adults & Children (6 years and older): Use one spray in each nostril once a day (100 mcg total per day).

Adults (12 years and older): Maximum dose is four sprays per nostril once daily (400 mcg total per day).

Pediatric Use: Safety for children under 6 years has not been confirmed.

Interaction

No significant drug interactions have been reported.

Contraindications

No known specific conditions prevent its use.

Side Effects

Most side effects are mild and temporary, including sneezing, headache, sore throat, dry mouth, and nausea.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy: Considered safe when used as prescribed, but should only be used if clearly needed.

Lactation: Only a tiny amount passes into breast milk, making Budicort Nasal Spray safe for breastfeeding mothers.

Precautions & Warnings

Use cautiously in people with infections like tuberculosis, untreated fungal or bacterial infections, or recent nasal injuries or surgery.

Overdose Effects

Taking too much at once is unlikely to cause harm. Long-term excessive use may lead to hormonal imbalance symptoms.
