MRP:৳ 12.0 (Tablet)
Is Antibiotic: No
Indications
Clogfree is used to reduce the chances of heart attack and stroke in patients with certain heart problems, like unstable angina or non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). Clogfree also helps reduce the rate of heart attack and stroke in patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
For people with recent heart attacks, strokes, or peripheral artery disease, Clogfree helps reduce the chances of more heart attacks and strokes.
Pharmacology
Clogfree is a prodrug that works by stopping platelets (blood cells) from sticking together. Clogfree does this by binding to specific receptors in platelets. You will see the effects of this within 2 hours of taking Clogfree, and after taking Clogfree for several days, Clogfree works even better.
Dosage & Administration
For Acute Coronary Syndrome: Start with a loading dose of 300 mg (4 tablets), followed by 75 mg daily. If you don’t start with the loading dose, Clogfree will take longer for the medicine to start working.
For Recent Heart Attacks, Strokes, or Peripheral Artery Disease: Take 75 mg once a day without a loading dose.
Clogfree can be taken with or without food.
Interaction
Taking Clogfree with NSAIDs, warfarin, or certain antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs) can increase the risk of bleeding. Avoid taking Clogfree with omeprazole or esomeprazole (medicines that block certain stomach acids). Clogfree should also not be taken with repaglinide, as Clogfree may cause higher levels of repaglinide in the blood.
Contraindications
Clogfree is not recommended for people who are allergic to Clogfree or any of its ingredients. Clogfree should also not be taken by people with active bleeding conditions like peptic ulcers or bleeding in the brain.
Side Effects
Clogfree is generally well tolerated. Some common side effects may include bleeding, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, and skin reactions. Rare side effects may include bleeding disorders, anemia, swelling, joint pain, or problems with the bone marrow.
Pregnancy & Lactation
There are no well-studied effects in pregnant women. Clogfree should only be used during pregnancy if absolutely necessary. Clogfree is also unknown if Clogfree passes into breast milk, so you should discuss whether to stop breastfeeding or stop the medicine with your doctor.
Precautions & Warnings
People who have a problem metabolizing Clogfree due to a genetic issue or because they are taking certain medications (like omeprazole or esomeprazole) may not get the full benefit of this medicine. Clogfree can increase the risk of bleeding, so be careful if you need surgery. If you stop taking Clogfree, you could have more heart problems. Clogfree should be stopped 5 days before surgery that could cause bleeding.
In rare cases, Clogfree can cause a serious condition called Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP), which requires immediate medical treatment.
Overdose Effects
Taking too much of this medicine may cause bleeding problems. In such cases, a platelet transfusion might be needed to help with clotting.
Therapeutic Class
Clogfree is an anti-platelet drug.
Storage Conditions
Keep Clogfree below 30°C, in a dry place, away from light. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
