Indications
Clopid-AS is used to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients with heart issues or stroke history. Clopid-AS is also used for patients with Peripheral Arterial Disease, recent heart attacks, or strokes to lower the chances of having another heart attack or stroke.
Pharmacology
Clopid-AS is a combination of two medicines. One medicine helps prevent platelets from sticking together, which can prevent heart attacks and strokes. The other medicine stops platelets from clumping and helps with blood circulation. Both medicines work together to lower the risk of blood clots.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: Take 75 mg of this combination once a day, with or without food. In some cases, a 300 mg dose may be given first. For people with heart problems, the doctor may also prescribe other medicines along with Clopid-AS.
Children: Safety and effectiveness in children have not been established.
Interaction
Clopid-AS is safe to use this combination with aspirin, but Clopid-AS should be used carefully with other medications like NSAIDs or warfarin. Always talk to your doctor about any other medications you’re taking to avoid interactions.
Contraindications
Clopid-AS should not be used by anyone allergic to Clopid-AS or any of its ingredients, or by people with active bleeding issues like stomach ulcers or bleeding in the brain.
Side Effects
Clopid-AS is generally well tolerated, but some people may experience mild side effects like stomach discomfort or bleeding. Always contact your doctor if you notice unusual symptoms.
Pregnancy & Lactation
If you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before using this. Clopid-AS should not be used during the third trimester of pregnancy. Clopid-AS is not known if this combination passes into breast milk, so Clopid-AS is recommended to stop using Clopid-AS while breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
This combination may increase bleeding time, so caution is advised if you are prone to bleeding. Clopid-AS may also cause rare blood disorders and should not be used by people with a history of allergic reactions to similar medications.
Overdose Effects
Overdose may lead to bleeding problems. In cases of overdose, seek medical attention immediately. For aspirin overdose, symptoms like dizziness, confusion, and stomach issues may occur, and treatment may include inducing vomiting or other medical interventions.
