Indications
Clopirox Shampoo is used to treat skin infections caused by fungi, such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and fungal infections caused by Candida. Clopirox Shampoo is also effective for treating conditions like Tinea versicolor. Additionally, Clopirox Shampoo helps treat certain bacterial infections and can reduce inflammation in mild to moderate fungal infections.
Pharmacology
Clopirox Shampoo is a synthetic antifungal medicine that stops the growth of various fungi, yeasts, and other microorganisms. Clopirox Shampoo works by blocking important substances that fungi need to grow. Clopirox Shampoo also has antibacterial effects against some harmful bacteria and can reduce inflammation by affecting certain substances in the body that cause swelling.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: Apply the cream to the affected areas and surrounding skin twice a day for four weeks. You should notice improvement within the first week. If no improvement is seen after four weeks, consult your doctor. For Tinea versicolor, two weeks of treatment is often sufficient.
Children: Safety and effectiveness in children under 10 years old have not been established.
