Indications
CoDiaglit 850 is used along with diet and exercise to help control blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. This is for those who are already taking CoDiaglit 850 or those whose diabetes is not controlled well with just one of these medicines.
Pharmacology
CoDiaglit 850 works when insulin is present in the body. CoDiaglit 850 helps reduce insulin resistance in the body and liver, which leads to better use of insulin for glucose and reduces glucose made by the liver. CoDiaglit 850 is a strong medicine that helps control blood sugar by affecting genes involved in glucose and fat metabolism.
CoDiaglit 850 helps improve glucose tolerance by lowering blood sugar levels, both before and after meals. CoDiaglit 850 reduces glucose made by the liver, lowers glucose absorption from the intestines, and makes the body better at using insulin. Unlike other medicines, CoDiaglit 850 doesn’t cause low blood sugar or increase insulin levels in the body.
Dosage & Administration
General: The treatment for type 2 diabetes should be personalized based on how well CoDiaglit 850 works for the person. The daily dose should not exceed 45 mg of CoDiaglit 850 and 2550 mg of CoDiaglit 850.
Dosage Recommendations: The starting dose should be based on the person’s current medicine. CoDiaglit 850 should be taken in divided doses with meals to reduce side effects. The doses can be adjusted depending on how well CoDiaglit 850 works.
For patients switching from other treatments: CoDiaglit 850 may be started based on the dose of the previous medicine and adjusted as needed.
Maximum Dose: The maximum dose of CoDiaglit 850 is 45 mg a day, and the maximum dose of CoDiaglit 850 is 2550 mg a day for adults.
Special Patients: Older people and those with kidney problems may need lower doses. Kidney function should be checked regularly, especially for older people. This treatment should not be started if the liver is not working well.
Interaction
CoDiaglit 850 may affect vitamin B12 absorption. CoDiaglit 850 can also interact with other medicines, increasing or decreasing its effect. CoDiaglit 850 may interact with medicines that are cleared by the kidneys.
Contraindications
CoDiaglit 850 should not be used by people with kidney disease or dysfunction, especially if there is a high creatinine level or kidney problems from conditions like shock, heart attack, or infection. CoDiaglit 850 should also be avoided by those allergic to CoDiaglit 850 or any of its ingredients, and by those with metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis.
Side Effects
CoDiaglit 850 is generally well tolerated. The most common side effects are mild and include infections of the upper respiratory system, diarrhea, swelling of the legs, and headaches.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy: There are no well-controlled studies for this medicine in pregnant women. CoDiaglit 850 should only be used if the potential benefits outweigh the risks to the baby.
Nursing mothers: CoDiaglit 850 is not known if CoDiaglit 850 is passed through breast milk. Because many medicines do pass through, CoDiaglit 850 should not be used while breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
CoDiaglit 850 should not be used in people with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. CoDiaglit 850 should be used carefully in people with liver or heart problems, or if CoDiaglit 850 is taken with insulin.
CoDiaglit 850 is cleared from the body through the kidneys, so people with kidney problems should not take CoDiaglit 850, especially if their creatinine levels are high.
