Indications
Cold B is used to treat breathing problems that come with productive cough. This includes conditions like tracheobronchitis, bronchitis with emphysema, bronchiectasis, bronchitis with bronchospasm, chronic lung conditions, and pneumoconiosis.
Pharmacology
Cold B is a mucolytic agent that helps break down thick mucus in the airways. This makes Cold B easier to clear out the mucus when coughing. Cold B is quickly absorbed from the digestive system and is spread throughout the body.
Dosage & Administration
Adult & Children over 12 years: 10 ml (2 teaspoons) three times a day.
Children 6-12 years: 5 ml (1 teaspoon) three times a day.
Children 2-6 years: 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) three times a day.
Cold B is not recommended for children under 2 years old without a doctor’s advice.
Interaction
There are no known serious interactions with other medications.
Contraindications
Cold B is not recommended for people who are allergic to Bromhexine Hydrochloride or any of its ingredients.
Side Effects
Some people may experience mild stomach upset. A temporary rise in liver enzyme levels has been noted. Other side effects may include headache, dizziness, and allergic reactions.
