Indications

Colicon is used to treat conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, urinary problems caused by muscle issues, infant colic, stomach spasms, colicky abdominal pain, diverticulitis, and abdominal colic.

Pharmacology

Colicon is an antispasmodic and anticholinergic (antimuscarinic) medicine. Colicon helps relieve spasms in the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract. By attaching to specific receptors in the gut muscles, Colicon prevents certain chemicals from interacting with these receptors, causing the muscles to relax and easing pain caused by muscle spasms.

Dosage & Administration

Oral dosage: Adults: 10 to 20 mg three times a day. Children over 6 months: 5 to 10 mg three times a day.

Injectable dosage: Adults: Intramuscular injection (not for intravenous use). The recommended dose is 80 mg daily in 4 equal doses.

Oral form should be started as soon as possible, and the injectable form should not be used for more than 1 or 2 days. Children’s dosage must be determined by a doctor.

Side Effects

Side effects may include insomnia, dilated pupils, blurred vision, increased eye pressure, trouble urinating, heart palpitations, and breathing difficulties.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Colicon is considered safe for use during pregnancy when necessary. Animal studies did not show harmful effects, but Colicon should be used during pregnancy only when clearly needed. There is no information on whether Colicon passes into breast milk, so Colicon should be used with caution if you are breastfeeding.

Precautions & Warnings

Colicon should be used cautiously in patients with nerve problems, liver or kidney disease, ulcerative colitis, heart disease, heart failure, irregular heartbeats, hernias, or prostate enlargement.

Overdose Effects

Overdose symptoms are rare but may include headache, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, dilated pupils, dry skin, dizziness, dry mouth, difficulty swallowing, and nervous system problems.

Store below 30°C, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
