Indications
Colipan is used to relieve cramps in the soft muscles of the abdomen, such as in the gastrointestinal or urinary tract. Colipan can also be used to relieve painful periods and cramps. The injection is used for severe abdominal pain and cramps related to the kidneys or bile. In radiology, Colipan helps reduce spasms during diagnostic procedures like X-rays and endoscopies.

Dosage & Administration
For Oral Use:
Adults: 20 mg, four times a day. For painful periods, start taking Colipan at least two days before your period and continue for up to three days after Colipan starts.
Children (6-12 years): 10 mg, three times a day or as directed by the doctor.
For Injection:
Adults: 20 mg (1 ampoule) by muscle or vein injection, and repeat the dose after 30 minutes if needed. For endoscopic procedures, the dose may be given more frequently.

Contraindications
Colipan should not be used in patients with prostate enlargement, and elderly patients should use Colipan with caution. Colipan is also contraindicated in patients with paralytic ileus or pyloric stenosis. People with glaucoma should avoid using Colipan due to possible eye problems.
Side Effects
Common side effects include dry mouth, dilated pupils, increased eye pressure, hot flashes, dry skin, slow heart rate, and later fast heart rate or irregular heartbeat. Some people may feel tired, nauseous, dizzy, or unsteady.
Pregnancy & Lactation
During the first three months of pregnancy, Colipan should be used cautiously, just like other medications. Always consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
Colipan can cause drowsiness and impair mental alertness, so avoid driving or operating machinery while on this medication. Patients should also avoid alcohol. People with thyroid problems, heart failure, or heart surgery should use Colipan carefully as Colipan may increase the heart rate. Other anticholinergic drugs may increase its effects, so doses may need to be adjusted.
