Indications

Comipen is used to treat problems with ovulation in women who want to get pregnant. Before starting treatment, other reasons for not getting pregnant must be ruled out. Women with certain conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome or irregular periods are more likely to succeed with this treatment. The treatment works best when timed with ovulation. Comipen should not be used for more than six cycles.

Pharmacology

Comipen works by affecting areas in the body like the brain, ovaries, and uterus, helping to stimulate the release of hormones that make ovulation happen. This leads to the growth of eggs in the ovaries, and after ovulation, certain hormones rise and fall as they should in a normal cycle.

Dosage & Administration

Adult & Elderly: Start with 50 mg (1 tablet) daily for 5 days. If ovulation does not occur, the dose may be increased. The patient should be checked for pregnancy and other conditions before starting a new cycle. If ovulation happens, there is no need to increase the dose in future cycles. If pregnancy does not occur after several cycles, further treatment is not recommended.
