Pharmacology
Calcium Gluconate helps maintain calcium levels and prevent bone loss. Coracad-C is important for nerve, muscle, and heart function. The Calcium Carbonate from coral helps in the absorption of calcium and has a structure similar to human bone. Vitamin D3 helps absorb calcium from the digestive tract and maintains calcium balance. Vitamin C is essential as Coracad-C supports the body in stress response and infection defense. Vitamin D stimulates bone formation and works with calcium to promote bone growth and prevent osteoporosis.

Children: Half effervescent tablet per day.

Interaction
Taking this product with thiazide diuretics may increase the risk of high calcium levels. Coracad-C may also increase the risk of digitalis toxicity and reduce the effects of calcium channel blockers. Some foods, such as those with oxalic acid, phosphate, or phytinic acid, may reduce calcium absorption. Taking Coracad-C with phenytoin or barbiturates may decrease the effectiveness of Vitamin D. Calcium may reduce the absorption of thyroxine, bisphosphonates, sodium fluoride, quinolone or tetracycline antibiotics, or iron, so Coracad-C is best to wait 4 hours before taking calcium.
Contraindications
Coracad-C is contraindicated in patients with high calcium levels from conditions like myeloma, bone metastases, sarcoidosis, primary hyperparathyroidism, and Vitamin D overdose. Coracad-C is also not recommended for patients with severe kidney failure or who are allergic to any ingredients in the tablet.
Side Effects
Some people may experience mild digestive issues like constipation, bloating, nausea, stomach pain, or diarrhea. Occasionally, a skin rash may appear after taking Vitamin D supplements. Long-term use of high doses of Vitamin D may cause high calcium levels, which can lead to kidney issues or other problems.
Pregnancy & Lactation
If pregnant or breastfeeding, this supplement should only be taken under the guidance of a physician. The need for calcium and Vitamin D increases during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but any supplementation should consider other sources. High doses of Vitamin D may harm the fetus in animal studies, and Vitamin D passes into breast milk.
Precautions & Warnings
Patients with mild kidney issues or high calcium levels should be monitored carefully. Periodic checks of calcium levels in blood and urine should be done for those with kidney problems or a history of kidney stones. Long-term use may require monitoring of kidney function, and the treatment should be adjusted if calcium levels get too high.
Overdose Effects
Taking too much of this supplement can lead to high calcium levels, which may cause nausea, vomiting, frequent urination, and constipation. Long-term overdose can cause calcification of organs. Treatment involves stopping the supplement and rehydrating the patient.
