Indications
Cortimet is used to treat acute outer ear infections in both adults and children caused by bacteria like Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Proteus mirabilis.
Pharmacology
Cortimet is a combination of a quinolone antibiotic and a corticosteroid. Cortimet works by killing bacteria that cause infections and by reducing inflammation such as redness, swelling, and itching.
Dosage & Administration
Adult dose: After cleaning, instill 2-4 drops 3 to 4 times a day, including at night, or as advised by your doctor.
Paediatric use: Cortimet is safe and effective for children aged 2 years and older, based on clinical trials.

Contraindications
Cortimet should be stopped if a skin rash or any sign of allergic reaction appears.
Side Effects
Rare side effects may include headaches, itching, migraines, skin sensitivity, tingling, skin rashes, hives, or hair loss.
Pregnancy & Lactation
There are no well-controlled studies for pregnant women. Cortimet should be used cautiously during pregnancy. Cortimet is better not to use Cortimet while breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
As with other antibiotics, prolonged use can cause growth of non-susceptible organisms like fungi. If the infection doesn’t improve after a week, a culture should be taken to guide further treatment.

Storage Conditions
Store in a cool, dry place away from light. Keep out of reach of children. Shake well before use. Use within 30 days of opening. Close the bottle tightly after use.
