Indications
Cozopt is used to treat high pressure inside the eye in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, especially when other beta blockers do not work well enough.
Pharmacology
Cozopt is a combination of two medications: Dorzolamide and Timolol. Dorzolamide helps reduce eye pressure by lowering the production of fluid in the eye. Timolol works by decreasing the fluid formation in the eye, helping to lower pressure as well. Both work together to reduce the pressure inside the eye.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: Place one drop in the affected eye(s) two times a day.
Children: Safety in children under 2 years old has not been confirmed.
Elderly: No difference in safety or effectiveness compared to other adults.
Interaction
Taking Cozopt with certain drugs, such as oral calcium blockers, beta-blockers, or antiarrhythmics (like amiodarone), can cause low blood pressure and slow heart rate. Using Cozopt with other carbonic anhydrase inhibitors or beta-blockers can also cause side effects. Be cautious when taking with medications that block certain enzymes (like quinidine or SSRIs).
Contraindications
Cozopt is not safe for patients who are allergic to any ingredient in this product.
Side Effects
Some mild side effects might include a burning sensation in the eyes, redness in the eyes, or blurry vision.

Precautions & Warnings
This product is for eye use only. Remove contact lenses before applying and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.
