Indications
Cyclovex is used to treat an eye infection called Herpes simplex keratitis.
Pharmacology
Cyclovex is an antiviral medicine that works well against Herpes simplex types I and II and Varicella zoster viruses, while being safe for normal cells. After entering an infected cell, Cyclovex changes into an active form that stops the virus from making new DNA without harming normal cells.
Dosage & Administration
The same dosage is used for all age groups. Apply a 10 mm strip of ointment inside the lower eyelid five times a day at four-hour intervals. Continue treatment for at least three days after healing.

No significant interactions have been identified.
Contraindications
Cyclovex should not be used by people allergic to Cyclovex or similar medicines like Valacyclovir.
Side Effects
Very common: Minor damage to the surface of the eye, which heals without problems. Common: Mild stinging in the eye right after application and eye redness. Rare: Inflammation of the eyelid.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy category B. There is not enough information on its use during pregnancy. Cyclovex is unknown if Cyclovex passes into breast milk.

Follow the recommended dosage and treatment duration. Do not exceed the prescribed usage.
Overdose Effects
Ingesting the entire tube content is unlikely to cause harm.
