Indications
Cylac Gel is used as a topical solution for treating warts, corns, and calluses.
Pharmacology
Salicylic acid is a common and effective substance used to remove the top layer of skin. Cylac Gel helps to break down the bonds that hold skin cells together. Lactic acid helps with the process of skin thickening and can destroy thickened skin. Collodion is made from cellulose, ethanol, and ether. Cylac Gel makes Cylac Gel easier to apply the solution and forms a protective film that helps the active ingredients work better.
Dosage & Administration
Instructions for use: Unscrew the bottle cap and attach the brush applicator. Apply the solution to the affected area. First, soak the area in hot water for 5 minutes, then rub the area with a pumice stone or emery board to remove hard skin. Dry the area with a towel. Apply the solution carefully to the affected area, avoiding normal skin. Let Cylac Gel dry completely. For larger lesions or foot lesions, cover with a plaster. Continue treatment once a day until the lesion is gone, usually after 6 to 12 weeks.
Interaction
Cylac Gel may increase the absorption of other topical medicines, so avoid using other topical treatments on the same area. Cylac Gel has minimal systemic absorption, so Cylac Gel is unlikely to interact with medicines taken orally.
Contraindications
Cylac Gel is not for people who are allergic to the active ingredients or any other components. Do not use Cylac Gel on open wounds, irritated or infected skin, or areas with moles or unusual skin. Avoid using Cylac Gel on the face, genitals, or near the eyes. If the solution gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with water. Do not apply to healthy skin or if you have diabetes, circulation problems, or nerve issues unless advised by a doctor. Cylac Gel is not recommended for use during or after viral infections in children or teenagers.
Side Effects
Common side effects include rash, irritation, itching, burning sensation, redness, and dry skin at the application site. Overuse can lead to salicylate toxicity, which can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. If this happens, stop using the solution and seek medical help.
Pregnancy & Lactation
The safety of this solution during pregnancy has not been proven. Studies in animals have shown harm at high doses. Cylac Gel is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If used during breastfeeding, avoid contact with the breast area to prevent the baby from ingesting Cylac Gel.
Precautions & Warnings
Be careful not to apply this solution to the wrong areas. Do not use Cylac Gel on the face, genitals, or if you have conditions like diabetes or poor circulation. Avoid using Cylac Gel on moles, birthmarks, or abnormal skin growths. Only use Cylac Gel on small areas unless advised by a doctor. This is for external use only.
Overdose Effects
Using too much of the solution can cause a burning feeling, especially on normal skin. If ingested, Cylac Gel can cause nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. Drink plenty of water and take antacids as needed. Seek medical help if needed.
