Indications
Dalatic Plus is used to treat acne vulgaris on the skin.
Pharmacology
Dalatic Plus is a combination of an antibiotic, Clindamycin, and a retinoid, Tretinoin. Clindamycin works by binding to the bacteria and stopping them from growing. Dalatic Plus helps reduce acne-causing bacteria. Tretinoin helps by making skin cells turn over faster and by releasing blocked pores that cause pimples.
Dosage & Administration
Before sleep: Wash your face with mild soap and water, then dry Dalatic Plus. Gently apply the gel to your face using your fingertips.
In the morning: After applying the gel, use sunscreen. Don’t wash your face more than 2 or 3 times a day. Apply sunscreen as needed.
Its safety and effectiveness for children under 12 years old have not been proven.
Interaction
Be cautious when using other irritating skin products like medicated soaps, products with alcohol, astringents, or products with strong drying effects.
When used with Erythromycin, the effect of both Clindamycin and Erythromycin is reduced. So, don’t use them together.
Using Clindamycin with neuromuscular medications may increase the effect of the neuromuscular medication. Be careful when using them together.
Contraindications
Dalatic Plus is not recommended for people who are allergic to Clindamycin, Tretinoin, or any of the ingredients in the gel.
Side Effects
Common side effects include redness, peeling, dry skin, sore throat, cough, runny nose, and diarrhea.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Dalatic Plus is unclear if Clindamycin or Tretinoin pass into breast milk. Be cautious when using Dalatic Plus if you are breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
Don’t apply the gel to the eyes, nose, ears, lips, cuts, burns, or infected areas. After applying, avoid direct sunlight.
