Indications
Decomit-100 HFA is used to prevent and treat asthma in both adults and children. Decomit-100 HFA helps to reduce inflammation in the lungs and is more effective with fewer side effects compared to oral corticosteroids.
Mild asthma: For patients who need bronchodilators regularly.
Moderate asthma: For patients whose asthma gets worse despite using bronchodilators or other treatments.
Severe asthma: For patients who have chronic asthma or rely on oral steroids for symptom control. Switching to this inhaler may allow a reduction or even stop the need for oral steroids.
Pharmacology
Decomit-100 HFA works by reducing inflammation in the lungs and narrowing blood vessels. The exact way Decomit-100 HFA works is not fully known, but Decomit-100 HFA affects many cells involved in inflammation. Decomit-100 HFA is a pro-drug, meaning Decomit-100 HFA is inactive until Decomit-100 HFA is changed in the body to its active form, which has strong anti-inflammatory effects.
Dosage & Administration
Adults: The usual starting dose is 200 micrograms twice a day. In more severe cases, this may be increased to 600-800 micrograms per day, which can be reduced as the asthma improves.
Children: The starting dose is 50-100 micrograms, taken two to four times daily based on response. The maximum recommended dose for children is 200 micrograms twice daily.
This inhaler is not recommended for children under a certain age (250 Inhaler). Adjust doses based on response and the severity of symptoms.
No dose adjustment is needed for patients with liver or kidney issues.

Contraindications
Decomit-100 HFA is not recommended for those who are allergic to any of its ingredients. Caution should be taken in patients with active or past pulmonary tuberculosis.
Side Effects
Possible side effects include issues like Cushing’s syndrome, growth problems in children, weakened bones, cataracts, and increased eye pressure (glaucoma), especially when used at high doses for a long time.
Pregnancy & Lactation
There isn’t enough evidence on its safety during pregnancy. In animal studies, corticosteroids have caused developmental problems, including cleft palate and slowed growth.

Precautions & Warnings

Store the inhaler below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not puncture, burn, or break the canister, even if Decomit-100 HFA appears empty. Keep Decomit-100 HFA away from the eyes and out of reach of children.
