Indications
Dejac 30 is used to treat premature ejaculation in men aged 18 to 64. Dejac 30 helps those who experience persistent or recurring ejaculation with minimal stimulation, causing distress or relationship issues.
Pharmacology
Dejac 30 works by increasing serotonin levels in the brain, which helps delay ejaculation. The nervous system controls ejaculation through brain signals and spinal reflexes. Dejac 30 is quickly absorbed, reaching peak levels in 1-2 hours, and is mostly bound to proteins in the blood. Dejac 30 is processed in the liver and leaves the body mainly through urine.
Dosage & Administration
Adults (18-64 years): The starting dose is 30 mg, taken 1 to 3 hours before sexual activity. If needed, the dose can be increased to 60 mg. Dejac 30 should not be taken more than once in 24 hours.
Children & Elderly: Not recommended for individuals under 18 or over 65 years due to limited data.
Patients with kidney or liver issues: Those with kidney problems should use Dejac 30 cautiously, and Dejac 30 should not be used by those with severe liver issues.
Interaction
Dejac 30 should be used cautiously with medications affecting the nervous system. Dejac 30 can interact with PDE5 inhibitors, some antidepressants, and alpha-blockers. Alcohol can increase side effects like dizziness and slow reflexes, so Dejac 30 should be avoided while taking this medicine.
Contraindications
Dejac 30 should not be used by individuals allergic to its components, those with serious heart conditions, or those taking certain antidepressants and monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Dejac 30 should also be avoided if there is a history of fainting or severe liver disease.
Side Effects
Common side effects include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, diarrhea, and trouble sleeping. Some users may experience fainting or low blood pressure. Unlike other antidepressants, Dejac 30 has a lower risk of sexual dysfunction.
