Indications
Dekalin VT is used to treat bacterial vaginosis, a condition caused by bacteria in the vagina. Dekalin VT works by targeting the bacteria that cause the infection.

Dosage & Administration
Adult: The recommended dose is 1 vaginal tablet daily for 6 days.
Children and Adolescents: There is not enough experience with the use of this medicine in children or teenagers under 18 years old.
Women above 55 years and elderly: There is not enough experience with the use of this medicine in women above 55 years.

Contraindications
Dekalin VT should not be used by people who are allergic to the active substance or any other ingredients in the medicine. Dekalin VT is also contraindicated in people with vaginal ulcers or those who have not yet had their first menstruation.
Side Effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them. Most side effects are mild and go away quickly. Sometimes, symptoms of vaginal infections (such as itching, discharge, or burning) may get worse before improving. If symptoms continue, consult a doctor.
Other possible side effects include vaginal bleeding, vaginal pain, inflammation of the vagina, headache, and nausea.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Dekalin VT is generally considered safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding since Dekalin VT works locally and is not expected to harm the unborn or breastfed infant. However, Dekalin VT should only be used if necessary and recommended by a doctor.
Precautions & Warnings
Avoid using soaps, spermicides, and vaginal douches (vaginal washes) during treatment. Treatment should be stopped during heavy menstrual bleeding and resumed afterward. Unprotected sexual intercourse should be avoided during treatment. Vaginal tablets should not be used within 12 hours before delivery to minimize exposure to the newborn.
Overdose Effects
Using too many vaginal tablets may cause vaginal ulcers. If an overdose occurs, consult a doctor. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed tablet. Treatment should not be stopped early, even if symptoms have improved.

Store below 30°C in a dry place. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date shown on the carton and blister. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
