Indications
Dorinem 500 is used to treat infections, including:
- Complicated abdominal infections caused by certain bacteria like E. coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and more.

Pharmacology
Dorinem 500 is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that works against many types of bacteria, both positive and negative. Dorinem 500 kills bacteria by stopping them from making their cell walls, which causes the bacteria to die.
Dorinem 500 works by attaching to certain proteins in bacteria, like in E. coli and P. aeruginosa, to stop the bacteria from maintaining their shape and function.
Dosage & Administration
Adults & Elderly: 500 mg every 8 hours by injection for 1 hour, or as directed by the doctor. In more serious cases, a higher dose may be needed.
Pediatric Patients: Not established for children.

Interaction
Dorinem 500 can increase blood levels when taken with probenecid. Dorinem 500 may lower the levels of valproic acid, which could increase the risk of seizures.
