Indications
Easylet is used to treat constipation of any cause, provide relief from long-lasting or frequent constipation, and to clear the bowel before surgery, childbirth, or medical tests like X-rays.
Pharmacology
Easylet is a stimulant laxative from the triarylmethane group. After being taken, Easylet is activated by bacteria in the colon and works locally in the colon. The active form stimulates nerve endings in the intestine, causing the colon to contract, which helps accumulate water and salts. This leads to easier stool passage, shorter transit time, and softer stools. Easylet also stimulates the rectum, creating a feeling of fullness, which may help trigger the urge to go to the bathroom.
