Indications

Ketofast is used to treat mild to moderate local pain related to muscle and joint injuries, such as those caused by sports activities.

Pharmacology

Ketofast is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that helps reduce pain and fever. Ketofast works by blocking the production of certain chemicals in the body (prostaglandins) that cause inflammation. Additionally, Ketofast helps reduce pain in the body, including the central nervous system, and may have a mild fever-lowering effect.

Dosage & Administration

Adults: Apply the gel to the affected area two to three times a day. Adjust the amount of gel to cover the painful area, but do not exceed 15 grams per day. Treatment should not last more than one week. Massage the gel into the skin for a few minutes.

Children: The safety and effectiveness of this gel for children have not been established.

Interaction

Interactions are unlikely because the amount absorbed into the bloodstream after using the gel is very low.

Contraindications

Ketofast must not be used by individuals who are allergic to ketoprofen, other NSAIDs, or any of the ingredients in the gel. Ketofast should not be used on damaged skin or open wounds, or if there is a history of skin reactions like photosensitivity. Avoid sun exposure during treatment and for two weeks afterward.

Side Effects

Immune System: Rare: Severe allergic reactions such as shock or swelling.

Gastrointestinal: Rare: Nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, or gas.

Skin: Uncommon: Redness, itching, eczema. Rare: Sensitivity to sunlight, rashes, or hives. Very rare: Serious skin reactions.

Renal: Very rare: Worsening of kidney function.

Pregnancy & Lactation

If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor before using Ketofast. Ketofast should not be used during the first two trimesters unless absolutely necessary. During the third trimester, Ketofast may cause harm to the baby, such as heart or kidney problems. Ketofast is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers.

Precautions & Warnings

Ketofast should be used with caution in patients with heart, liver, or kidney problems. Do not use Ketofast with bandages that cover the skin. Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes. If you notice any serious skin reactions, stop using the product immediately and inform your doctor.

Overdose Effects

Overdose is unlikely due to the topical application. If ingested, Ketofast may cause systemic effects. In such cases, treatment should be supportive and based on the symptoms.

Therapeutic Class
