Indications

Linax E 5/10 is used with diet and exercise to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Pharmacology

Linagliptin blocks an enzyme called DPP-4, which helps increase the levels of hormones that control blood sugar. This leads to more insulin being released when blood sugar is high and reduces the amount of glucagon, which helps lower blood sugar. Empagliflozin is a medication that blocks SGLT2, which is responsible for reabsorbing glucose from the kidneys. By blocking this, Linax E 5/10 helps the kidneys remove excess glucose from the body through urine.

Dosage & Administration

Recommended dose: 10 mg Empagliflozin and 5 mg Linagliptin once daily, in the morning, with or without food.

Increased dose: The dose can be increased to 25 mg Empagliflozin and 5 mg Linagliptin once daily if needed.
