Pharmacology

Sedil 5 works by attaching to a specific part of the GABA receptor and enhancing the effects of GABA, which helps open channels that allow chloride ions to enter cells.

Sedil 5 binds to plasma proteins 98-99%. Sedil 5 is metabolized in the liver, and only small amounts of the unchanged drug are excreted in urine. After using a suppository, Sedil 5 is absorbed well and reaches its peak in 1.5-2 hours.
