Indications
Stanovit B is used to prevent or treat nutritional deficiencies caused by stressful conditions. These conditions may lead to a lack of essential B-vitamins, resulting in symptoms like sore tongue, mouth ulcers, cracked lips, nerve damage, or beriberi.
Pharmacology
Stanovit B contains important B vitamins that help regulate the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Each B vitamin plays a unique role in the body. A lack of these vitamins can lead to issues such as sore tongue, mouth ulcers, cracked lips, nerve problems, beriberi, and other health issues.
Dosage & Administration
Tablet/Capsule: The usual dose is 1-2 tablets or capsules three times a day, or as advised by the doctor.
Syrup: Take 2-3 teaspoonfuls daily, or as directed by the doctor.
Injection: Stanovit B is injected into the muscle or vein. The usual dose is 2 ml daily, or as directed by the doctor. This injection may also contain additional vitamins such as Thiamine, Riboflavin, Nicotinamide, and Pyridoxine along with D-Panthenol 5 mg.
Interaction
Even a small dose of pyridoxine (5 mg) can reduce the effectiveness of levodopa, which is used to treat Parkinson’s disease. Therefore, Stanovit B is not recommended for patients undergoing such treatment.
Contraindications
Stanovit B is not suitable for people who are allergic to any of its ingredients.
Side Effects
Side effects are rare but can include allergic reactions. High doses of certain vitamins and minerals may cause side effects, but they are typically not seen with the recommended dosage. Some patients may experience stomach issues when taking iron, even at normal doses.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Stanovit B is safe to use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, but Stanovit B’s always best to consult a doctor before taking any supplements.
