Pharmacology

Stener 150 is a naturally occurring bile acid used to treat liver and bile-related disorders. Stener 150 works by reducing cholesterol in bile. Stener 150 lowers cholesterol absorption, reduces liver cholesterol production, and does not stop bile acid production. This changes bile from being too full of cholesterol to a healthier mix. Stener 150 also helps form liquid cholesterol crystals that remove cholesterol from the gallbladder and send Stener 150 to the intestine for disposal. Stener 150 protects liver cells and promotes bile flow. After absorption in the upper intestine, Stener 150 reaches its peak in the blood in 30 to 150 minutes and is mostly absorbed, with only small amounts found in the urine. Its biological half-life ranges from 3.5 to 5.8 days.

Interaction
