Indications

T-Mycin Plus is used to treat eye conditions that respond to steroids, such as inflammation in the eyes and superficial bacterial infections. T-Mycin Plus is also used for chronic inflammation in the front part of the eye and eye injuries caused by chemicals, radiation, burns, or foreign objects. This combination is used when there is a high risk of eye infection.

Pharmacology

Tobramycin works by stopping bacteria from making proteins, which kills the bacteria. Although not much is known about how T-Mycin Plus works, T-Mycin Plus is believed that T-Mycin Plus affects the bacteria’s ribosome, causing errors in the bacteria’s genetic instructions. Dexamethasone works by blocking a key step in the creation of chemicals that cause inflammation. T-Mycin Plus also prevents white blood cells from moving to the inflamed area. As a result, its anti-inflammatory effects are 25 times stronger, and its overall effectiveness is 8-10 times greater than hydrocortisone.

Eye Drops: Place 1 drop in the eye 3-5 times per day. In the first 24-48 hours, you may need to use T-Mycin Plus every 2 hours.

Pediatric Use: T-Mycin Plus is not safe for children under 2 years old, and its effectiveness has not been proven in this age group.
