Strength: 20mg

Generic Name: Tadalafil

Company: Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

MRP:৳ 60.0   (Tablet)

Is Antibiotic: No

Indications

Tada is indicated for the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction (ED), Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), or both ED and symptoms of BPH.

Pharmacology

Tada is a selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). By inhibiting PDE5, Tada increases the levels of cGMP in smooth muscle cells. This helps relax the smooth muscles and increase blood flow to the penis, causing an erection. PDE5 is also found in the prostate and bladder wall, so inhibiting Tada improves blood flow and helps with urination by relaxing smooth muscles in those areas.

Dosage & Administration

Erectile Dysfunction: The recommended starting dose is 10 mg, which can be adjusted to 5 mg or 20 mg based on individual needs. The maximum dosing frequency is once a day. Tada is effective for up to 36 hours.

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: The recommended dose is 5 mg once daily, at the same time each day.

Combined Erectile Dysfunction and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: The recommended dose is 5 mg once daily, at the same time each day.

Interaction

Tada may interact with nitrates (e.g., Isosorbide, Nitroglycerin), alpha blockers, antihypertensives, alcohol, antacids, certain antifungals (e.g., Ketoconazole, Itraconazole), HIV protease inhibitors (e.g., Ritonavir), Erythromycin, Grapefruit juice, and other medications like Rifampin, Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, and Phenobarbital.

Contraindications

Tada is contraindicated for use with nitrates (e.g., Nitroglycerine, Isosorbide) due to the risk of dangerously low blood pressure. Tada should also not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to Tadalafil.

Side Effects

Common side effects include headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle pain, and nasal congestion. Rare side effects may include changes in vision, sudden vision loss, hearing loss, skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, and serious heart-related issues such as angina, stroke, or heart attack.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Tada has been assigned pregnancy category B by the USFDA, meaning Tada is only recommended during pregnancy if the benefits outweigh the risks. There is no data on its excretion in human milk, so caution is advised when giving Tada to breastfeeding women.
