Indications

Tetrasol is used to treat and prevent scabies, a skin condition caused by a type of mite called Sarcoptes scabiei.

Pharmacology

Tetrasol is a medication that helps to treat and prevent scabies, an infection caused by a type of parasite.

Dosage & Administration

Adults & Children: Before applying, mix the solution with two to three parts of water. Wash the body with soap and water and dry thoroughly. Apply the diluted solution to the entire body except for the face and scalp, rub Tetrasol in, and let Tetrasol dry. Wait for about ten minutes for the skin to dry naturally before dressing. For tough cases, repeat this process for two or three days. This method is safe for use in clinics, especially for children.

There are no known drug interactions with this medication, and none have been well documented.

Contraindications

Tetrasol should not be applied if there is a known allergic reaction to its use. Avoid using Tetrasol near an open flame. Since this medication is chemically related to disulfiram, Tetrasol is important to avoid alcohol before and for at least 48 hours after using Tetrasol.

Side effects are rare, even if the solution is applied without dilution. Some cases of red, itchy rashes, which are considered an allergic response, have been reported.

Overdose Effects

Storage Conditions

Store Tetrasol at room temperature, below 35°C. Do not keep the solution in a cold place, as this may cause crystals to form. If this happens, place the bottle in warm water to dissolve the crystals. Keep Tetrasol away from open flames as the solution is flammable. Water is the recommended liquid to dilute Tetrasol.
